Where in summer hikers romp and the Keltenblitz, the longest summer toboggan run in the province of Salzburg, is located, a small but fine ski area on the Dürrnberg attracts in winter. It is especially popular with locals and families with children because it is close, manageable and inexpensive. Another plus: the lifts are within walking distance from the Hotel Kranzbichlhof.
Skitouring
Ski tours with slope descent or in open terrain are available in abundance around the Kranzbichlhof in any level of difficulty.
Both in the neighboring Berchtesgadener Land and with us in the Tennengau you will find a variety of tour suggestions for your activity in the beautiful winter landscape. Enjoy the fresh, cool mountain air and find your place in the sun with a wonderful view of the mountains.
Cross country skiing
In the picture book landscape around the Kranzbichlhof you will find countless opportunities for cross-country skiing. Both for skating fans and for classic cross-country skiers.
More than 170 km of perfectly groomed trails are located in the villages around the hotel. You can discover another 100 cross-country skiing kilometers in the neighboring Berchtesgadener Land.

FOUR LIFTS
- NINE KILOMETERS OF PISTES
The four lifts on the Dürrnberg serve as your gateway to 9 kilometers of slopes. The pistes - a mixture of easy and intermediate hills - are particularly suitable for returning skiers and children. And whenever you are in the mood for a refreshment break, the Zinkenstüberl awaits.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE "Dürrnberg Zinkenlifte" SKI AREA
If there is plenty of snow on the ground, the ski area on the Dürrnberg will be open yearly provisionally from December until April, operating daily from 9 AM to 4 PM. Zinki-Kinderland is open daily from 10 AM to 3 PM, featuring a bunny run as well as a snowtubing hill.

In addition to day- and multi-day tickets as well as so-called "points passes", hourly tickets are also available for those who prefer not to spend quite as much time on the slopes. Furthermore, the Dürrnberg Zinkenlifte ski area, in cooperation with the Zinkenstüberl, offers a 4-hour all-inclusive ticket which, in addition to the lift ticket, includes a daily meal special along with a small glass of beer or "Skiwasser" at the Zinkenstüberl.
Rossfeld - Dream Setting
You will find wonderful panoramic views in the Rossfeld skiing area. It is only 5 minutes away from the hotel and offers ideal slopes for beginners and families, as well as for pleasure skiers.
Krispl-Gaissau
Krispl-Gaissau and the Krispl lifts provide a perfect starting point for families with children and beginners. Riding through the Magic Forest is great fun. This ski lift is only 25 minutes from our hotel by car.
Jenner - THE SKI AREA ON LAKE Königssee
In less than 20 minutes, you will reach the ski area on Königssee. Since the resort reopened, it offers modern ten-passenger gondolas and beautifully groomed pistes.

There are also many handicrafts and old traditions to admire at the Berchtesgadener Advent. Around the royal castle and the historic old town you will definitely get into the Christmas spirit.
The whole world knows the probably most famous Christmas carol "Silent night! holy night!". Our municipality Hallein has even founded its own Silent Night Museum for it, which is visited by more than 4,000 interested people every year.
