This emerald-green lake - nestled in the Alps - is the crown jewel of Berchtesgaden National Park, offering astonishing views of the Watzmann east face and the surrounding peaks. Whether a boat ride across the lake, a short stroll or full-blown hiking expedition into the mountains, for families as well as nature lovers one and all, Königssee is a top excursion destination.
